Above and Below (Gihon)
2026
Oil/acrylic on canvas
30 x 40 inches
This piece is a part of series investigating the Gihon River, which runs through Johnson, VT where I was awarded a residency for June 2026 at the Vermont Studio Center. Working with my microscopes and capturing underwater footage of the river and surrounding Riparian Zone, this piece is about the beauty of this place but also the tensions present with such a fierce and ever-changing force of the river.
Hol Chan (For Jamie)
2019
Oil / acrylic on canvas
72 x 48 inches
"Hol Chan" is Mayan for "little channel." This work is the result of a research trip to the Belize Barrier Reef, where I visited a reserve by the same name. In addition to documenting the health of the reef at various locations (at various points north and south in Belize), I worked with a shark conservation team in Riversdale.
